As a Sr. Director of Government Strategy at Veeva, Amra has responsibility for leading the Global Government Strategy for Med Tech. In this role, Amra utilizes her expertise, insight, and a valuable thought leadership perspective to build strategic partnerships with the medical device industry. Amra's job is to track industry trends, to know what changes are coming forward, to work with industry on advocacy and to ensure that technology is at the forefront of medical device conversations.
Amra has been in the Healthcare Industry for over 23 years, and most of those spent in large medical device companies in a variety of regulatory roles. She spent the first 13 years of her career at Medtronic ensuring cardiovascular and other high risk and IVD devices continued to have market access in the US and other developed regions. While she initially started working on regulatory submissions, her focus quickly shifted to global regularly advocacy, global strategy and global regulatory intelligence, allowing her to represent the organization as well as the medical device industry in a number of external working groups and hold various chair, co-chair and subject matter expertise roles.
Prior to joining Veeva, she has also worked at Bayer AG as well more recently at Abbott in their global regulatory function leading the regulatory intelligence activities for their medical devices division. There she worked with the organization to prioritize and put measures in place for ensuring compliance to regulations from across the Globe.
In addition to her day job, Amra continues to enjoy many years of teaching International Regulatory Affairs Minneapolis at the Minnesota local St. Cloud State University Master's Program. Lastly, she is a passionate mentor and serves on the board of directors at a non-profit organization called WISE, whose mission it is to help women and girls prioritize education.
