Principal Regulatory Consultant Integrated Project Management Company, Inc.
Description: The FDA announced resuming in-person meetings beginning Feb 13, 2023, after having virtual meetings during the pandemic. It is exciting news but are you ready to go back to in-person meetings? You may feel anxious when answering regulatory health authority questions during the meeting.
In this session, some tips from Toastmasters International will be introduced.
For speaking, consider using "PREP" for Point, Reason, Example, and Point or "Positive and Negative method" to compare pros and cons, followed by your recommendation.
You'll also learn the importance of "active listening" skills. Pay attention to what regulatory authorities are saying and interpret the underlying meaning. Identify ways to best address their concerns.
By using these techniques, you will learn to stay on point and address questions from the regulators during the meeting.
You can practice speaking and active listening skills at social events, business meetings, or gatherings with your friends and family. The more you practice, the better you get and the more comfortable you become.
If you want to practice more, check out Toastmasters International. Find a club near you to participate in in-person meetings or join virtual meetings. Contact me to learn about the new virtual Regulatory Affairs Toastmasters (RAT) club or consider starting your own club.
