The Inflation Reduction Act and Beyond: Impacts of the Evolving Reimbursement Landscape on Drug Development

Description: In 2022, Congress passed the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), that includes substantial changes to drug pricing policies through three key proposals: Medicare direct price negotiation, redesigning the delivery of the Medicare Part D drug benefit, and inflationary penalties for certain price increases in Medicare. Not only will this session provide an overview of these changes and what they mean for patient access and the future of innovation, but we will also explore other federal and state regulator proposals and payer actions that continue to challenge the way we think about new product innovations and how they will be reimbursed and ultimately accessed by patients. Through this session we will have the opportunity to discuss the ongoing tension between desire for new medicines, with continued budgetary and health system constraints, allowing for dialogue about how best to approach education and landscape considerations when bringing new treatments to market.
